BIENVENIDOS

Not all ceviche is created equal. You need the freshest raw fish, just enough Peruvian lime, a chilli kick and a pinch of ground sea salt. That’s just what’s in it. How you make it, the methods and timings, are ingredients in their own right.

We take proper Peruvian food seriously at Ceviche. Sizzling barbecued anticuchos, super salads and juicy saltados. We care about every little ingredient. And we serve it all up in Soho with a spoonful of chicha, Lima’s cheeky, playful side. With a pisco sour (or three).

TIGER'S MILK RECORDS

Tiger's Milk Records releases music from emerging artists and hard to find tracks from Peru. This beautiful limited edition (500 copies) 7" vinyl is our first release. It features a very rare example of the psychedelic cumbia of Juaneco y su Combo and a funky horn laden version of ‘Meshkalina’ by Paco Zambrano y su Combo.

Tiger’s Milk is the popular name for the marinade used in ceviches and the music released offers hard to find collectable re-issues as well as music which pays tribute to Peruvian food. Many of the music we play at Ceviche has only ever been released on vinyl, is from the 60s and 70s and you can only get them on vinyl 7-inches that cost around £100 each. From urban latin funk from Lima, to Amazonian psychedelic chicha, many of these songs have laid undiscovered for over 30 years and customers have been asking us how they can get hold of these. So we are making these available in their original 7-inch format and in a beautiful package that pays respect to their heritage. We are passionate about bringing Peruvian food and culture to the UK so we hope you love this 7".

CEVICHE & AMANTANI

Amantani helps some of the poorest children in Peru by providing boarding houses where they can have somewhere to sleep, eat and have the chance of an education. Ceviche’s aim is to connect our team in London, our customers and fans with Amantani’s through a series of initiatives and events, both in conjunction with Ceviche and outside. This enables us to raise money for Amantani and create awareness for the fantastic work they are doing in Peru.

From Martin Morales, Founder:

In 2010, before I started Ceviche, I met Amantani’s Founder, Fred Branson, and I was blown away by his extraordinary commitment to helping the children of rural Peru. He was neither born there nor has any family ties like I do to the Andes of Peru district of Ccorca, near Cuzco.

Life in that area is tough. Alcoholism among men is rife and fathers are often absent. Anaemia is very common in children due to malnutrition and young girls are often brutally treated as a result of poverty and alcohol related problems. Before the impact of Amantani, any remote chance of getting an education was hindered by a 4-hour walk each day to school and back, which left the children exhausted and unable to learn.

By starting Amantani, Fred embarked on a social entrepreneur mission setting up boarding houses so girls as young as 8 years old could have a place to sleep, receive an education, be fed and treated with love and kindness. I was excited and impressed by what Fred and his colleagues were doing and the ways they achieved results so I told Fred that I would help him fundraise and would support him in anything he needed. A year later he and his amazing co-Director Chris, made me a Trustee of Amantani. We have three houses at present, and have also embarked upon a schools partnership project helping these improve in these rural communities.

We are a small but beautifully formed charity with great leadership that is humble and accountable. We do everything we can to manage, run and care for children by using fundraising moneys transparently and as effectively as possible. We organise a series of entertaining and fun events like photo exhibitions, fun runs, and mountain walk challenges throughout the year that bring people together.

CHRISTMAS AT CEVICHE

Bookings for Christmas are now open.

From December 1st, for £38.50 per person, our 4 course Christmas Menu is available for parties from 6 or more.

Email us at [email protected] for bookings and information.

Ceviche can host up to 18 of your friends, families or colleagues any day for lunch until 4pm, and up to 12 guests for dinner.

We have created new dishes like Chicharron con Ensalada Roja (Pork confit with beetroot salad and criolla salsa), Pato con Puré y Albaricoques (duck confit served with mash, apricots,  and rocoto chilli) and Causa Salmón (smoked salmon and sour cream with chives on a cool Peruvian potato cake).  Alongside this is a warm Peruvian pudding called Champuz with Quince and Pineapple.

All these dishes will be available to order as specials throughout December from 12 midday to 12 midnight.

This is Ceviche’s first Christmas and we want it to be a memorable one so we have invited top London mixologist Ryan Chetiyawardana to work with our Head Chef Gregor Funcke to create Pisco cocktails and Peruvian dishes that compliment and enhance each other. This pairing experiment brings former Le Cordon Bleu teacher Gregor on a sparring with Bar maestro Ryan at Ceviche. Ryan is currently between the lab and the kitchen working with Gregor developing new Pisco cocktail pairings new dishes, details of which will be announced shortly.
